The wind that sweeps the Orkney shores tastes of salt. The wind and sky converse in a hushed and heavy tone, and beneath, a stone circle silently stands guard. Brownish-mauve heather bounds the stones within a ring of bright green grass. Silence, salt, and the sudden, sharp call of a curlew, drifting eerily on the breeze before vanishing into the grey.
